On August 18, 2020, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh gave a lecture on the topic “Lessons from the sea” which belongs to Milindapanha Sutra. Due to the complicated situation of COVID-19, the Dharma talk was live-streamed so that Buddhists could watch from home.

Through the debate of Bhikshu Nagasena and King Milinda, together with Thay’s explanation, meaningful lessons from the sea and the similarity between five qualities of the sea and five virtues of the ordained were learned. Thay taught, “To be successful at any careers, we should possess the qualities of the sea. That is, we must get rid of bad deeds which obstruct our work, work hard, humbly learn the know-how as well as preserve precious things of the work.”

Hopefully, after listening to the Dharma talk, everyone will derive lessons from the qualities of the sea and apply them in their daily life.
