How to achieve mindfulness and awareness? This question may take us a lifetime to find out the answer. To Buddhist practitioners, following the Buddhas teachings is the only way to obtain mindfulness and awareness, thus reaching true bliss. By being aware of our actions, we can tell the right from wrong to avoid bad consequences of cause and effect. This will not make us feel regret, and will then help us find inner peace.

However, some of us may be confused by the question of what is exactly the right or wrong thing to do and how to distinguish between bad and good deeds? For this question, it can be simply explained that the right thing, or a good deed, is something that benefits not only ourselves but also everyone around us. In contrast, a bad deed is something that causes harm to those around us or even ourselves. But even if we can clearly define those two concepts, how can we always stay aware and act upon that criterion.

That is why, in the sixth episode of Ba Vang Talks, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh explains to us the method to achieve our mindfulness, so that we will always be able to stay aware of what is good and bad, in every thought and action.

Practising Buddhism is to practise being aware. Mindfulness is a related term, but it is still far from awareness.
